The manuscripts came from multiple sources, mostly donated before 1990.
These manuscripts were transferred to other collections:
Pearl Baker scrapbooks (formerly MSS/008) to PG7; Canby Family (formerly MSS/018) to PG7; Newlin Family (formerly MSS/020) transferred to MSS 003/Journals; Conrow Family (fomerly MSS/021) to PG7; Woolman Family (formerly MSS/026) to PG7; Pancoast/Starr Family (formerly MSS/027) to PG7
Originally listed on a typed checklist with short descriptions. Assigned collection (MSS) numbers circa 1985. Upon review by staff in 2015, some manuscripts were removed to reference files for better access. In 2018, consolidated into a single collection for better access through ArchivesSpace.
