Aimwell School records
The Aimwell School in Philadelphia was founded in 1796 by Anne Parrish (1760-1800) for the purpose of providing "a good English education" in the primary and grammar grades for underprivileged girls. It was instituted by the Society for the Free Instruction of Female Children and operated under the management of the Society of Friends.
Milcah Martha Moore Fund records
This collection contains one volume of minutes (1866 - 1882) from the Trustees of the Milcah Martha Moore Fund. The minutes consist of treasurer reports, and decisions about use of the funds.
Society for Home Culture records
The Society for Home Culture records includes four volumes: three volumes of minutes, which include tipped in annual reports, and lists of students with the subject they studied, by year; and one volume of a list of books to be studied, which includes the name of items, sometimes a brief description of the item, and the date of publication.
Kate Thompson scrapbook
The scrapbook of Kate Thompson, spanning 1877-1881, has a great variety of ephemera. The photographs, newspaper clippings, flowers, and cards, are from her time at the Fairmount Collegiate Academy and during her visits to Europe.
Emma Waln diary
Emma Waln's diary entries detail her active social life, including descriptions of attendance of various social events, including whist parties, women's clubs meetings, lectures, and parties, as well as more informal social calls from friends and family. Waln's diary also describes attending classes and lectures at Swarthmore College.
Sarah D. Wilt diary
This collection contains a diary created by Sarah D. Wilt between the years 1864 and 1872. In her entries she wrote about traveling with her family.
Sarah Wistar diary
Early diary entries describe Sallie's classes and studies in her efforts to earn her high school diploma, while later entries describe social calls, illnesses in the family, and other family news, as well as Sallie's responsibilities as the eldest daughter living at home.
