Mexican Travelogue Photo Album
Scope and Contents
The photographs included in this travelogue document a trip to Mexico that took place between January 23 and March 16, 1937. The images are black and white, and the majority are accompanied by brief, hand-written notes and occasional commentary. The content of the photographs is varied: many depict the physical surroundings of Mexico, featuring both natural landscapes and man-made structures like pyramids, temples, and palaces. Others highlight the activities of Mexicans in both rural and urban settings, including a few particularly captivating images of children. The photographs highlight a number of Mexican cities including Guadalupe, Sabina Hidalgo, Mexico City, and Victoria. The last few pages of the travelogue contain postcards. Each displays an image and corresponding location label on the front; some have short, hand-written letters on the back.
